In Case of Emergency, Please Notify...... (30DC12)
On Wednesday somewhere between 1:30 and 2:00, while driving with my window down, something flew into my eye. Whatever it was, I never did see it but my eye bothered me to no end. I bought some Clear Eyes to try and flush it out and that didn't work. I went to bed very early on Wednesday night (around 7pm) hoping that when I woke up, what ever was in my eye would have worked it's way out,
On Thursday, I called my doctor and she scheduled me for an eye appointment and as it turns out, whatever flew in my eye, left a scratch on my cornea. Doctor said it was already healing and I'd be fine.
Right. Back to In Case of Emergency, Please Notify......
I had not been to this eye doctor before and so I had to fill out the new patient forms. When it got to the question of who to call in case of emergency, naturally I put my daughter's name down. And then it happened. My eyes teared up again only this time not because of the scratch. It had been a long time since I answered that question on paper. And suddenly I realized that I had been putting Candice Cadenhead (my 26 year old daughter) in the blank space instead of my mother or my grandmother. When did that happen? Time flies.

Charita * similar thing happened to me when I was at the beach where my sister lives on a windy day with my small INSIDE glasses on. I don't know how I drove home; however, early bed and not rubbing it helped!!!

We have twin one year old girls. I blinked and they were walking and talking. So now your are telling me 26 years goes by in a blur? That isn't good for me, first thing in the morning.

Time flies more quickly than we ever comprehend. This year was our 25th wedding anniversary. How did 25 years go by that fast??

Charita - LOL at Paula's comment. I remember the first time you made an age reference or mentioned your daughter and I think I said something along the same lines or something like you must of started young. LOL
On another note, can't even imagine what it must have felt like for you to realize that your daughter is now your emergency contact and not your parent. That must be a strange feeling for a parent.
Donne thanks. You and Paula are too gracious (not complaining at all though). The feeling was a little weird (in a good way) when it dawned on me. It was just a Wow moment.
Well, Charita, that says a lot for you and that you raised her well! You are now trusting HER to make the proper decisions for you--you have a lot of confidence in her, but it is to YOUR credit as well!

Charita, reading your post cleared the dust out of my eyes as well, time does fly and we can not put our parent's for contact anymore, anyway some of us can not. Have a Safe weekend.
Endre it does kind of make you want to just set back, reflect and BE GREATFUL for whatever time you have/had with the ones you love.
